Los Angeles is the second most populated city in the United States, it has a violent crime rate of 634.8 per 100,000 inhabitants. We can see the severity of the problem from the article in Los Angeles times which states that the crime rate in Los Angeles rose by 5% where on an overall state-level it fell by the same rate. The purpose of this project is to determine the trends in crime that would help the Police department to minimize the crimes in Los Angeles. From the analysis, we would be able to determine the measures to minimize the crimes in the city.
The data describes the crimes in Los Angeles like time and place of the crime, when the crime was reported, crime description, weapons used for the crime, status of the crime resolution etc. This dataset is refreshed every week. So, we have a trending dataset since 2010 to till date.
